Special Use-Other Permit

This permit is used to request use of, or activities on, management areas and other regulated areas that are otherwise prohibited and not covered by a specific permit.

What this permit allows:

  1. When the Regional Director or area manager has determined that the activity will not be detrimental to the area's wildlife and habitat, and will not place an undue burden or cost on staff, the permit allows the named permit holder and members of their group/organization, or their guests, access to engage in activities that would normally be prohibited on the area.

What this permit does NOT allow:

  1. Access to management areas when they are closed due to weather or other emergency closures.
  2. Hunting or fishing without the required licenses and permits.

Requirements and conditions:

  1. The permit will specify what is allowed, when it is allowed and any special conditions or prohibitions.
  2. This permit must be in the physical possession of the permittee when engaged in the permitted activity and must be presented to any law enforcement officer, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission personnel or other law enforcement personnel upon request.

Information you must have available to apply for this permit:

  1. You will need the details (what, when, where) of activity that you are requesting.
  2. Contact and identification information, including a daytime telephone number where you can be reached during normal business hours (8-5, M-F).
  3. To receive notification of approval or denial of the permit application, you will need to supply an e-mail address.  If you do not supply an e-mail address you will need to return to the application site periodically to determine your status and if approved to print your permit.

How to apply for this permit:

  1. Click on the "Apply for Special Use - Other Permit Now" button below.
  2. This will take you to a login screen.  If you have not applied for an FWC permit before click on "Register."  Enter the requested information and create your username and password.
  3. Enter your username and password.
  4. Enter the requested information.
  5. Submit your application.
  6. Your application will be reviewed.
  7. If you supplied an e-mail address you will receive notification of approval or denial of the permit application.  If you do not supply an e-mail address you will need to return to the site periodically to determine your status.
  8. If approved sign on to the application site by clicking the button below and print the permit.
  9. Read and sign permit.
  10. This permit must be in the physical possession of the permittee when engaged in the permitted activity and must be presented to any law enforcement officer, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission personnel or other law enforcement personnel upon request.
