An Event of the Florida Disabled Outdoors Association

For those of you who have not participated in a SportsAbility event, you owe it to yourself to experience the enjoyment firsthand. SportsAbility is the premier event of the Florida Disabled Outdoors Association (FDOA). This two-day event is all about enhancing lives and having fun. FDOA is dedicated to recreation and healthy, active living, with the goal of making our community more inclusive. The slogan for this event is, "There are no barriers too great to overcome".

The Hunter Safety instructors and coordinators have contributed their considerable talents to this event over the past few years. We set up the Laser Shooting System at the Friday indoor events, then a pellet gun and archery range at the outdoor events on Saturday. Nothing will give you greater satisfaction than watching the participants, "Overcome these great barriers."

If you would like to volunteer your time at any of the workshops, please contact Ashley Lawson at the Lake City Regional Office, (386) 754-1051 X-127 or [email protected] and join in the fun (see below). You can also visit http://www.fdoa.org/ for information on events and on Florida Disabled Outdoors Association membership. Watch this web page for the dates of future SportsAbility events.
